What is Cool Mist Line®?
Heat countermeasures for your workplace!
A Revolutionary Cooling System Using Only Air and Water
Cool Mist Line® is an innovative cooling solution developed exclusively by Toyoko Support Co., Ltd. It uses compressed air and a small amount of water to generate evaporative cooling, creating a comfortable working environment even in the hottest conditions.
Highly praised for its affordability and energy-saving benefits, it’s the ideal choice for factories struggling with extreme heat or residual heat from machinery.

5 Key Benefits of Cool Mist Line®
-
Significantly Lower Running Costs
By introducing Cool Mist Line®, electricity usage can be significantly reduced, helping to lower production costs.
Moreover, it may allow you to revise demand-based electricity contracts.
Each unit can be independently turned ON/OFF via valve control. -
Up to -8℃ Cooling Effect with Just Air and Water
Uses only compressed air (2 L/min) and water (7–40 L/min) to reduce surrounding temperature by up to 8℃.
Example: In a 40℃ environment, it can cool down to 32℃depending on conditions.
Covers ~2.0 m² per unit and cools efficiently without heat-generating panels or exhaust. -
Low-Cost and Easy Installation
Can be quickly installed with only a compressor and water supply.
Can be fixed with tubing, allowing in-house installation and reduced setup costs.
Compared to spot coolers, it requires less construction and is flexible for partitions or workstations. -
Simple Structure, Easy Maintenance
Its simple air-and-water design reduces heat buildup and mechanical failure risk.
Can be installed outdoors or on rooftops, with easy in-house maintenance. -
Ultrafine Mist That Doesn’t Wet Surfaces
Cool Mist Line® releases an ultrafine 15μm mist that cools the environment without wetting workers or equipment.
The mist disperses quickly into the air, leaving no water droplets behind, which means there's no risk of rusting on metal surfaces or machinery.
It’s safe to use even in environments where moisture is strictly prohibited, such as printing facilities or precision equipment workspaces.
Additionally, it offers a comfortable cooling alternative for those who are sensitive to air conditioning. -

Cool Mist Line® – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Questions About Usage Environment
- How much air is required?
- Approximately 28 liters of air per minute is required per unit.
- How much air is needed for 3 units?
- A compressor with more than 1 horsepower (0.75 kW) is required.
- How much air is needed to operate more than 10 units?
- A 5-horsepower (3.7 kW) compressor can support approximately 14 units.
- How much water is used?
- Each unit uses 7 ml of water per minute. That’s 420 ml per hour, and about 4 liters in 8 hours.
Questions About Product Specifications
- What components are included in the Cool Mist Line®?
-
The Cool Mist Line® consists of the main unit (mist spraying unit), along with dedicated components for the air and water systems. These components can be proposed and provided as a set based on your installation environment and requirements.
【Air system components (6 items)】
・Air coupler ・Air regulator ・Ball valve ・Push-in tee ・Push-in straight ・Urethane tube (black)
【Water system components (6 items)】
・Piping component set ・Water pressure regulator ・Water filter set ・Push-in tee ・Push-in straight ・Urethane tube (blue)
If direct water connection is not possible, optional 2L or 5L water tanks are available (in this case, the piping component set is not required).
- What are the options if a direct water connection is not possible?
- You can use an optional 2L or 5L water tank.
A 2L tank can supply one unit for about 4 hours, while a 5L tank can last approximately 8 hours per unit.
- What should I do if I’m unsure how many units are needed?
- If you provide us with a floor plan, we can calculate the required number of units based on your installation environment and provide a quotation.
You can also estimate based on the number of workers in the workspace.
In environments where workers move around within a certain area, placing one unit every 2 to 2.5 meters is effective.
Questions About How to Use the Product
- Can the amount of air be adjusted?
- Yes, you can adjust the air volume freely by opening or closing the valve.
- Can the amount of water be adjusted?
- Yes, you can increase the water volume by turning the dial on the back of the unit counterclockwise. (Adjustable in 40 steps)
The water output ranges from 7 mL/min up to 40 mL/min.
Questions About Installation Requirements
- Does it cause wetness?
- No, it does not cause wetness when used correctly. The ultra-fine 15μm mist particles evaporate instantly, preventing moisture buildup.
- Will it cause rust?
- No, it will not cause rust. The misted water evaporates completely and is absorbed into the air in a saturated state, preventing rust formation.
In fact, the system has been successfully adopted in environments where both rust and moisture must be strictly avoided, such as printing and bookbinding factories, as well as steel and plating facilities.
- Will it increase the humidity?
- No, it barely affects the surrounding humidity as it only uses 7 ml of water per minute.
- How effective is the cooling performance?
- It can cool the surrounding air by approximately 8°C below the ambient temperature. However, the actual effect may vary depending on environmental conditions such as the installation location.
- What is the effective cooling coverage area?
- One unit typically covers an area of about 2 square meters. However, the actual coverage may vary depending on the operating environment.
- Is there a recommended installation height and position?
- The ideal mist nozzle height is 2,200–2,500 mm above the floor. It should be installed 80–150 cm from the operator so that the mist hits around the neck area.
For optimal performance, place the water tank lower than the main unit. A height difference within 60 cm is sufficient for the air pressure to feed the water.
Questions About Durability and Maintenance
- Won’t the nozzle clog due to calcium buildup?
- Clogging is rare, though it depends on the water quality. Hard water is generally not a problem.
- Is regular maintenance required?
- Not particularly. The structure is simple, so clogging is uncommon. However, if clogging does occur, simply remove the nozzle with the provided wrench and clean out any rust or debris.
Questions About Comparisons with Other Products
- How is it different from a spot cooler?
- Spot coolers are designed for limited areas and generate exhaust heat, which can raise the ambient temperature. Additionally, electricity costs per person can reach around ¥8,000 per month.
In contrast, the Cool Mist Line® generates no heat and can cool a wide area efficiently. Monthly operating costs are very low—about ¥400 for air and just ¥20 for approximately 80 liters of water.
(All amounts are based on estimates in Japanese yen.)
Some factories that have adopted it have reported up to a 20% reduction in power demand.
- How is it different from a mist shower?
- Typical mist showers produce relatively large particles (about 20μm), which may cause wetness. Especially outdoors, mist direction can shift with the wind, leading to inconsistent cooling.
In contrast, the Cool Mist Line® generates ultra-fine 15μm particles, making it much less likely to cause wetness and more comfortable to use.
Its tornado-style spray pattern allows mist to be directed precisely to targeted areas.
It also consumes as little as 0.4 liters of water per hour, offering excellent energy efficiency.
